CYSPERA
Intensive Pigment Corrector
A biological depigmenting treatment for hyperpigmentation concerns. Hyperpigmentation is a common skin condition in which some areas of the skin become darker in colour than the surrounding skin.
Hyperpigmentation occurs when an excess of melanin is produced by melanocytes, the pigment cells, which are moved up to the skin’s surface. Hyperpigmentation can be caused by inflammation, hormonal stress, sun damage, or other skin injuries.
People with darker skin tones are more prone to hyperpigmentation, especially with excess sun exposure. The active ingredient is cysteamine.
Naturally present in human skin cells, cysteamine regulates melanin synthesis in the skin.
It has been formulated to work as an effective topical treatment, Cyspera®.
PIGMENTATION
Medical Hyfrecator Electrosurgical Lesion removal
The tip of the pen emits a tiny electrical arc to the skin, without actually touching it. This arc vaporises the skin, forming small scabs that drop off within a week. The top layer of the pigmentation will then be significantly lighter.
Depending on the type of pigmentation you may need more than one treatment.
A topical or local anaesthetic is applied 15 mins prior to treatment so you shouldn’t feel any discomfort.
The treated area will be slightly darker and will form a light crust. This usually last for around 2-7 days. Aftercare is paramount for this treatment so you must avoid direct UV post treatment along with avoidance of makeup, excessive heat and swimming. This isn’t a treatment to book directly before a holiday.
With proper skin care and sun protection following hyfrecator treatments, results can last for years. Remember that skin is genetically programmed to create brown spots in response to UV exposure. It is impossible to avoid all sun exposure so even with the best of skin care and protection, new brown spots may emerge gradually over time. Proper skin care and protection is the only thing standing between you and appearance of future brown spots.
